Voting Options

To vote in Minnesota, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on Election Day, and a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days. Eligible Minnesotans have multiple options for casting their ballots:

  • Vote Early in Person: Avoid the crowds on Election Day by voting early at designated locations.
  • Vote Early by Mail: Request an absentee ballot and vote from the comfort of your home.
  • Vote on Election Day: Find your polling place and make your voice heard.

Visit mnvotes.gov for more information on these options and to find your polling place.

Be an Informed Voter

By learning more about who and what is on your ballot, you will be better positioned to have the issues vital to you addressed. Attend candidate forums, ask questions, and do your research to ensure that the candidates and ballot measures align with your values and the needs of your community.

  • 2024 Candidate Questionnaire on Housing Issues: Do the candidates understand or address the need for increased access to affordable homes for families in your community? To help all voters answer that question, Habitat Minnesota has partnered with MHP on a housing questionnaire for all Minnesota state legislature candidates. We’ll be sharing the housing survey with candidates. We need your help sharing and encouraging the candidates in your districts to complete the survey! Find all the resources you need to share the survey and read candidate responses here: 2024 Candidate Questionnaire on Housing

Know Your Rights

As a voter in Minnesota, you have many rights, some of which are highlighted below:
